The documentary starts with some music playing and an old couple talking about how they first met. It shows the couple as if they are in a photo frame. At the bottom of the photo frame there is writing saying how long they have been married. The song is then used to fill in the gap when they are showing old pictures of the couples when they were young. I think this is a nice touch to the documentary. It gives you an insight into how they met and grew up together. I like this documentary as it shows how the old people fell in love when they were young and are still going strong when they are getting old.

I found Christmas with Dad compelling but rather sad-- it seems to me that more education would help the 'Dad' in such circumstances. The filmmaker might agree that a happier future appears unlikely. A beautifully structured film, and thought-provoking.
